Interns

PSA encourages law students as interns from all over the globe. The internship is for a minimum of one month, and preferably more for final year law students so that offers and placements are made accordingly. The interns undergo challenging tasks because a key objective of the internship program is integration of the interns within the firm from day one of the internship so that they are exposed to real work. The interns are expected to work as a team and learn other soft skills as well. We expect and encourage interns to think out of the box and to demonstrate legal knowledge gained during the law studies.

Over the years, interns have been students from – School of Law and Legal Studies, IP University, New Delhi, Amity Law School, Delhi, Sinhgad Law College, Pune University, ICFAI Law School, Dehradun and from the US as well. PSA is the first Indian law firm to be associated with the University of Georgia’s prestigious Dean Rusk Center’s Global Internship Program, and in the recent years, as many as six students have spent their summer internships at the firm. To further foster and encourage young law students, a nominal stipend is also given for the internship. Upon completion of the internship, interns are required to submit a report about their experience about our firm and how they view the internship experience. This report is the basis of the certification provided by the firm.

Interested students who want to be part of a dynamic and a fast growing law firm may submit their resumes to Ms. Rosy Bairwa at r.bairwa@psalegal.com at least two months prior to the expected start date of the internship.

Applications sent to Ms. Priti Suri or any lawyer shall be rejected outright

I’m absolutely in love with the system in place. I like how people get to work on things in peace, there’s a steady supply of work (that must say quite a lot about the company’s reputation, for in my previous internships, ‘twiddling thumbs’ might go on the worksheet), there’s no pressure to stay up late and work (I wouldn’t know about the boss, though, never having worked under her) but all in all, I like how people get treated.

Firstly, I would like to thank PSA for giving me an opportunity to be a part of it. It indeed was my first internship. Doing internship here helped me to analyze the law in more practical way, which earlier was just a bookish knowledge. It has given me an exposure and helped me in building my self confidence. My internship at PSA has been one of the most memorable experiences in my life. Here I understand how a corporate law firm works. Here the importance of work, organized methods of handling the task and their regular follow up, emphasis on various writing techniques is what I find unique and different. The working culture here is very friendly and hospitable.

Interning with PSA Legal was a good learning experience. I got an opportunity to apply my bookish knowledge to practical/ real life problems. The best thing about working with PSA Legal was that interns were given a proper exposure as to how things work in a law firm. All the lawyers give special attention to the interns which is a rarity in all the law firms. The most important thing I learnt at PSA apart from legal work was the importance of discipline and organization of work. All in all interning with PSA was a wonderful experience and if given an opportunity I would like to come and work here again.

The internship experience with the firm in comparison with my other internships is by far one of the best. The environment of the firm was quite professional, accompanied by short sessions of entertainment and coffee breaks which kept the spirits of the people high. The internship days were rigorous but not at all boring. I enjoyed all my assignments and am thankful to all the associates and other people involved with the working of the firm.

I feel privileged to have been a part of PSA. I served as an intern for a period of six weeks, by far the most enriching of all my internship experiences. The mentorship, camaraderie and the frank feedback that I got from my seniors has undoubtedly enhanced my learning curve. I look forward to more opportunities to working with the team again.

The work environment was awesome; and has instilled in me a desire to work in such a profession where perfection is the priority as far as the work is concerned.

The entire period of my internship was overall a very beneficial and enriching experience for me as well as for my career. I would say that PSA is “the best place to learn and work”.

From what I have heard from my friends who worked and did their internships in India and China, the work that I was given was the most meaningful and substantive, and I really enjoyed getting a taste of both litigation and transactional assignments.

The atmosphere in the office was very pleasant. Everyone really made an effort to make sure I felt comfortable and assisted with me with all questions that I had. After comparing my work to the experience I have had in other offices, I feel like there is more of a sense of community. It seemed that everyone knew wh

My internship at PSA was an extremely enriching experience and at the end of it I can confidently say that by working here, I did pick a few practical and handy ways of doing things like discussing issues with the client, division and execution of a task among lawyers, legal discussions with fellow lawyers etc.

My internship at PSA has provided me thorough practical training. In addition to this, working here has helped me understand professionalism, be it with respect to writing skills, presentation or deadlines that we are required to meet.

The office atmosphere has been conducive to work but at the same time there has been an informality of approach which never permitted me as an intern to feel intimidated. PSA has kept me busy and there has never been a dull moment in my time here.

There is an old African proverb, that “it takes a village to raise a child,” and my experience at PSA has been much like that. At every stage of my internship, I had the constant support and guidance of my colleagues.

With the rigorous writing standards at PSA, I greatly increased my writing skills. One of my weaknesses has always been that my writing tends to be verbose. However, my internship at PSA taught me to write in a more clear and concise manner.

This internship will prove to be a valuable asset for a career in today’s multi-jurisdictional environment.

It has been a very good experience, being my first internship I learnt a lot.

All the tasks that were given to me made me learn something which I had no idea about earlier from drafting a document or how to format it.

The first thing that I learnt here was to be precise – if I want to put my point across then I need to do that in brief. Second thing was the understanding of the work that I was doing. Everything is so different, talk about punctuality, discipline, work environment, attitude of associates’ and what not. It was a wonderful experience to be a part of PSA and I would want to be associated with the firm again.

The endeavor to achieve excellence through constant hard work, attention to detail and devotion is the essence of PSA. Everything I learned at the firm was new to me and thus, working here was invigorating. The environment of the firm has helped me to develop better communication skills and has made me a more confident person than I was before working here.

The entire period of internship was overall a very useful exposure to an entirely new facet of the legal profession, which was challenging and satisfying. I am confident that this experience has enriched me in identifying my future course in this profession and above all, instilled a desire to work in such an environment.

To my surprise, one of the first things I learned while interning at PSA was how similar legal practice in the U.S. and India can be. Because of the system similarities, I feel that choosing India for my internship was a positive decision. I found the motto “form as well as substance” catchy, and I felt that its command is one that those in the legal field often fail to heed. In a field where so much credence is given to where a comma falls within the statute, or which exact word was chosen, those practicing within the field must be careful to craft their documents with care – a lesson reiterated by the tough writing standards enforced at PSA. There is a certain level of formality required when working as an attorney, whether it is in your personal appearance, being aware of the form of e-mails to clients, or using professional language while speaking on the telephone. During my internship I was able to learn a great deal about professionalism by watching the actions of the attorneys around me.

One thing that we especially appreciated was receiving the opportunity to work on some legitimate projects. It was refreshing and educational to work on something that ultimately would be useful.
