Dhruv enrolled as an Advocate in 2009. Prior to his enrolment, and during the final year of law school, Dhruv interned with PSA for over 10 months during which he participated and assisted in various corporate and commercial transactions.
As part of a team, Dhruv's experience includes representing a technology client in a start-to-finish third round of funding involving private equity and other investors of $10 million. He engaged in substantial legal research and prepared extensive documentation for the transaction including closing mechanisms as well as post-closing regulatory reporting. He was also involved in preparing the necessary documents in the context of the process involved in the buy-back of shares. Additionally, he was involved in review of contracts and preparation of a due diligence report of another technology company.
As an associate, Dhruv also assists in various litigation matters ranging from domain name disputes, recovery of money suits, specific performance suits. Apart from conducting extensive research, he drafts pleadings, and prepares arguments.
Additionally, he routinely assists senior lawyers of the firm in researching and preparing various day-to-day legal opinions on operational matters for different clients functioning in diverse business segments. He has been advising a large US company on various issues emanating from import of various consumer goods.
Dhruv's prior legal experience includes assistance in advising a news channel to set up its broadcasting unit in India. He has also drafted special leave petitions at the Supreme Court of India and various motions for quashing different plaints and petitions.
Acutely interested in competition issues and the environment, Dhruv's dissertation was on Anti-Competitive Agreements under the new Competition Act and he prepared a research paper on Carbon Credits in India. Dhruv has already published several articles in both national as well as international legal journals. These include "Criminal liability of Companies" published in Corporate Law Advisor, contributing to the Firm's publications in the Corporate Finance/M&A Newsletter of International Law Office, and articles published by
www.taxindiaonline.com. Additionally, he regularly writes for the firm's legal alerts, newsletters and bulletins.
